Makerbot replicator 2 filament holder
Am I missing something, do I need to add something to the print file? Is it normally printed with the replicator 2X and scaffolding? I think when I printed from my phone, though I clicked the V2 version, it printed the other version with the clip. I'm going to take a look at this again and report back.
We printed one of these for a friend's unit. It clips to the Replicator 5th gen frame very securely, holds spools from several different manufacturers and creates a better filament delivery path than stock. However, the part of the top flange that hangs below the rail impedes the y-axis. There are two screws on that carriage that rub as they pass. We filed a chamfer 45 degree angle on the underside of the top clip.
This clears the screw heads. If you don't understand where we mean, orient the thing as a letter "S" with the rounded part at the top. On the upper-right side, you will see the flange that comes down and curls inward.

I found I needed to use dykes to do it. I printed some spindles so the spools roll better on the threaded rod the red bits. I printed them five on a plate, you can too.

Tired of loading from the back, have to keep the machine away from the wall. Keep up the great work. This look s like a great item. Problem is, the one person said it wouldnt fit on a 9 inch bed. So what printer did you use, and for those of us who dont want to waste our time, whats the length of the tower, so we can know not to even attempt this? And therefore, can it be made shorter? Hence the issue the other person said about the App wanting to rescale it, meaning the software knew it couldnt be made full scale on the Replicator.
I printed on my Rep 2 for my Rep 2. The Rep 2 bed is Mind you the hole pattern is for the Rep 2 but I guess you could scale it in the long axis to make it shorter. It is possible he needed to rotate it before getting it on the bed. Quick question, when I put into MakerBot Desktop, it says that it needs to be rescaled. Will the rescaling change anything? It should not be rescaled, the bolt patterns won't fit the printer if you do that.
I'm not sure why it's asking you to do it either. What printer are you trying to print it on? This is a great design! Unfoutunately, now the mounting holes don't align with the screws on the machine, so I'm planning to mount the gantry with heavy duty two-sided tape on all three mounting surfaces. This will raise the filaments by an inch I think and allow the spools to turn more smoothly I hope. Gotta go to work now but I'll finish things up and post photos over the weekend. I found it prints without support with the settings in the instructions.
