Litecoin hashrate 7850
In any case, keep in mind that the rest of your system needs power also. Furthermore you want to have some margin rather than maxing out the capacity of the power supply. One of the risers are definitely faulty. If I have the bad riser plugged in at all, nothing will power up at all. With the good riser plugged in, all fans will spin up. But like I said, even when I revert back to my original setup with just 3 cards, all fans get going but the PSU fan stops after about seconds.
You may have a bad riser but it really sounds like you fried something… probably the power supply. That assumes that the power supply really can supply W constantly and that your video cards never draw more than W each.
My system draws over W idle. Sounds like a malfunctioning powered riser could have caused that to happen? Try dropping down to 1 video card in the system and see if it powers on. Also your motherboard should produce a beep pattern of some sort to indicate what might be wrong. Consult the motherboard manual to determine what it means.
If it does not have an on-board speaker, make sure the case speaker is hooked up. I definitely think your right about the PSU or mobo frying. So I found a case speaker plugged it in. On power up the PSU fan starts for a few seconds then stops. No beeps, no display. My rig crashed a week ago. When I tried to reboot it, it was impossible.
Nothing happend no light, no fan, nothing. I tried to put it in the other pci-e slots, but nothing happend, unless I unplegged it to the PSU. As it was a new GPU, I had it exchange at my store. Yesterday, same thing happend. I also noticed that if only one of the two power plugs of my GPU2 is plugged to the PSU the left one when you face the fans , the mobo starts, the fans of GPU2 works, but the card is -and this is normal -not detected by the computer.
When I have the system running with 3 cards it boots up fine and works ok with any combination of cards. As soon as I add a 4th card then the system fails to boot up or sometimes boots up and cgminer crashes after 5mins. Also when it fails to boot up the fan on the 4th gpu starts spinning very fast this can be any of the GPU.
I have replaced the powered PCI riser cable and still have the same problem. I am using a PSU slave cable to get the second psu to come on at the same time as the first.
I managed to get the 4 gpus to work for about 48hrs and then have been having these problems. Thanks for your help and I look forward to any information i can get on this as I am building up the rig to 6 cards gradually and this is currently a stumbling block! My pool has not found a block for over 14 days now. With the current difficulty at about 5. As things stand, my 3 x card rig is using more electricity than I am making in coin right now.
Why not join a bigger pool? Is this a pool that you run? You can also consider alt coin mining as it tends to be more profitable than ltc. Hi Greg, No, i do not run the pool, and joining a bigger pool would be my next step.
I just wanted to know if other pools are still finding blocks at regular intervals, and although I expect a drop in payout frequency as the mining difficulty increases, 14 days without finding a block seems to me more than just bad luck. If I break from my pool now then I will lose the shares that I have put in over the last 14 days. I also want to stay with LTC mining as it is more widely accepted than other coins.
Consider a multi-pool that switches to the currently-most-profitable coin on the fly and automatically trades for BTC or LTC. Or just go to a bigger litecoin pool. The new ASIC miners that are coming out each produce about 3x the hashrate of your entire pool. Overall GPU mining is becoming rather unprofitable. Notify me of follow-up comments by email. Now not all graphic cards support mining but if you purchased a medium range or better one the last years you should be able to mine. I will be using coinotron in this guide. Make sure LTC is selected under coin. Intensity, this you can set anywhere from 0 to 18 where at 18 your computer becomes unusable and might even freeze.
You can try any of the thread concurrencies within these ranges but it has to be a multiple of Make sure you use the concurrency that fits your card model. Find your bus width here: You can set a maximum temperature if you run into problems, the default is 95 which is ok for most cards. I prefer to run it from cmd so I can see any error might it occur. Replace -u and -p with your own username and password. For pooled mining you have to use: For solo mining you have to connect to your own litecoin wallet: Note that guidminer-scrypt gets very different results with the same settings, I find it harder to get good hashrates with guiminer-scrypt.
You should be mining by now! Anything missing or any questions? Leave a comment below. Hi thanks for the step by step set up. I am not able to mine accepted or rejected shares, nor shows my worker online when i log in on cointron. I tried to run the mining proxy from my minerd folder hoping that would do the trick. Any help much obliged.
It seems that Coinotron is having some issues, more people are reporting this here: Unfortunately there is no other PPC pool at the moment, bitparking closed this week and the other ones seem to be a scam. Just Waring You My Friend! Great guide you have here. Does this mean the pool is neither accepting nor rejecting any shares from me? It has stayed like this for nearly an hour now and my stats on the pool site is set to 0. Any fixes or help with this problem? Do you have another gpu maybe?
I had a problem when it would run my bad Intel graphics card but no my main gpu. Look carefully at what one its using.
I am up and running thanks to your guide but I seem to keep getting interrupted then reconnecting again. What is the exact command line you are using? Then followed the prompts when it asked for the server http: I will have another try will your command line though. Although the program did not accept it. I will try again and i will also roll back to the exact version you are using and see if that helps. There seems to be something wrong with the formatting of the dashes. It will probably work if you type over the whole command line manually.
I think you have the same problem as Sam smoo, the dashes are not formatted properly. It should be working when you type them manually.
Ok thanks a million that did the trick. Everything is working smooth now thanks!! Do you have any articles on here that cover building a rig? There is possibly more than one display attatched to a GPU. Probing for an alive pool pool 0 JSON stratum auth failed: Using a as well and the setup on coinotron went successfully..
